#productdevelopment #growth I want to be able to quickly identify the key pieces of information that people need right now to grow. We can set up a decision tree based on people's responses to how they think about or would handle certain situations. If we can identify the key situations and responses, we can create a decision tree to narrow in on the information that will be exceptionally relevant to them. The information we give them will hopefully be a parable accompanied by the take-away. They will hopefully get more from the parable than just our take-away, but we will call out the main point so they can hear the moral of the story in a healthy way. For each question, we should allow them to write their own response. This will help us identify new responses. But we should also force them to choose the one that most closely aligns with what they wrote so that we can make a recommendation. *Close your eyes and answer these questions for yourself before reading the responses. Pick the one that is most similar to what you said to yourself.* ###### Perfectionism You decide you want to train for a marathon, a 26.2 mile run, and you know you can run a full mile right now. What is your goal for running the marathon? - I want to win. If I'm not first I'm last, and while I may not get first place in my first marathon, I expect to be exceptional. - I want to complete it. I won't get first place but I will appreciate that I made it to the finish line and accomplished my goal. - I won't be able to run 26.2 miles, but I'll put effort into it and see how far I get. - I won't be able to run 26.2 miles, so there is no point in training. I'll give it a go for a week, but if it's not going great, I'll do something else. - [Write in] *A perfectionist will choose the first option.* ###### References [[The Foundations|The Foundations]]
