#growth Go into every situation with the goal to do more good than bad. Rules, both legal and social, are for those who don't understand what the difference between good and bad is. If everyone knew the difference, there would be no need for laws, rules, or cultural shaming. Everyone would just act in the best interest of themselves, their neighbors, and the society even in the face of conflicting interests. Laws exist to tell people "hey, murder is bad" or "hey, jaywalking is dangerous so don't be stupid". Otherwise there is no need for rules. They only apply when when someone is doing more bad than good, or when the enforcer doesn't understand the reason behind the rule/law. And for the most part, the enforcers always understand the reason for the laws. So break the rules, ask forgiveness rather than permission, and always do more good than bad along the way. Not only will you be forgiven for breaking the rules, you'll be lauded as the life of the party. Everyone loves a good rule breaker.
